The internet craze of planking has evolved into the more dangerous batmanning as fans seek out ever more dangerous thrills. You can forget planking….batmanning is now the latest internet craze.

Batmanning calls for a sudden rush of blood to the head. Batmanning, also known as toe hooking, is simply hanging bat-like upside down by feet from walls, ledges, platforms, raised bars and other places.

As keen plankers have vied to out-do each other, many of its often youthful and reckless fans have risked their lives by lying down on railway tracks, moving cars and fences.

Planking has already caused the death of 20-year-old Acton Beale who fell while trying to balance on a balcony railing of a block of flats in Brisbane, Queensland, as well as serious injuries to enthusiasts willing to go to any lengths to produce impressive photos. But batmanning is definitely taking the dangers to a whole new level.

A group of Indiana’s Purdue University students, calling themselves the Batman Boilers, are taking credit for making batmanning popular across the world by way of a YouTube post showcasing their attempts. The video has gone viral and has attracted over 350,000 views since it was uploaded on YouTube on August 29. Tach the video by clicking the link below.

But the dismount is far from easy, and many videos show people falling head first on to the floor.

Members of the Batman Boilers have issued warnings that batmanning is not an easy stunt to pull off, saying that they had help getting up and down from their stunt.

Other daredevils are posting their efforts online, with one man playing the Batman theme tune on a guitar while performing the stunt and a whole host of failures, highlighting the potential dangers of the activity Watch the Batman theme video at the link below.
