Flare Surfing

Flare surfing is the latest rage in extreme sports. Flare surfing by day looks like a fireball is chasing the surfer. But at night, flare surfing is truly a sight to behold as the ocean is set aglow.

Flare Surfing At Night

Red Bull’s Minor Threat pairs four junior surfers with four elite surf veterans, in the hope that the seasoned guys will impart some of their accumulated wisdom to the youngsters, while the juniors will imbue the veterans with their youthful recklessness.

Red Bull Minor Threat team came up with the genius “Surfing with a flare” idea to attach a flare to the end of their surf boards. And they tested out their game-changing idea recently in the remote surf breaks in the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia.  Among those involved were Bruce Irons, Kolohe Andino and Jamie O’Brien, who each got the chance to “surf with flare.”

The team pulled it off with an incredible display of skill, combining fire and water with stunning effects.
