A Hakka Chinese New Year video has gone viral on YouTube, attracting more than 370,000 views since it was uploaded on January 22.
The Sabah-made video was directed by photographer-cum-artistic dance assistant Skyler Liew, 30. It was shot using a Pentax DLSR camera at various locations around Kota Kinabalu a day before Chinese New Year and featured dancers from the Synergy Dance Studio owned by Skyler’ s brother Christopher.
Nine males, including a 13-year-old boy, donning white singlets, blue jeans, black boots and sunglasses, dance to a parody of the American electro pop duo LMFAOs “Sexy and I Know It.”

The tune was sung in Hakka by Helmsly Chong Jin Fu, 21. Skyler hit on the idea for the clip after hearing Chong singing the song in Hakka in his car.
