Hopelessness

Hopelessness

Hopelessness

Hopelessness is a desolate place,

When all avenues of hope have deserted us without a trace,

It’s the last wrung in the ladder,

Where nothing seems to matter.

Hopelessness is when we relinquish all desire to live,

Even though life actually still has much to give,

We don’t go there by choice,

We give in to an inner voice.

Hopelessness binds the tongue,

Our burdens seem to weigh insurmountable tons,

Like mute we seem unable to speak,

For our pain is too deep.

Hopelessness is a squatter,

That makes our soul its quarter,

But he is nebulous without any real substance,

Dismiss him every instance.

When our days are dark,

And everything seems to be falling apart,

Hold steadfast to your hope,

And humbly pray to the Lord.

When all hope is lost,

What matters most,

Are prayers and appeal for help,

Instead of withdrawing into your lonely self.
