Looking Back At 2012

2012 is now history. It will be remembered as the year of Gangnam Style. I turned 55 in 2012. I survived the Mayan calendar. As I start the first blank page of my new 365-page book, I pray that the book will be filled with great memories.

2012 has been a very memorable year.  For me, the year was filled its fair share of happy and sad events. As I look back now at 2012, these few events stand out as the most memorable:

The passing away of Sophia Tan, my ex-colleague in Brunei

The passing away of Wee Bing An, my childhood friend

My reunion with Kueh Kian Chai, Dominic Ha and Catherine Lo in Kuching

My reunion with my Form One form teacher Miss Constance Yii and my Kai Chung classmates Grace Ling Poh Choo and Ling Siew Hung

Writing my article “My Wrestling Matches With God On My Life Journey”

Attending the Bintangkian Lau Peng Yu Reunion

Initiating the book donation project for SM Kai Chung’s library

Bringing my mom to Brunei for her first ever visit to the Sultanate

Reaching my 30th wedding anniversary milestone

Attending my mom’s 80th birthday celebration in Kuching (and it was also my 55th birthday!)

I am determined to make 2013 an even better year so that one year from now, I can look back with satisfaction on a year well-lived! So goodbye 2012 and welcome 2013!
