A couple of months ago, I watched a very poignant Thai commercial for a Thai life insurance company that really touched my heartstrings. I forgot about it but I came across it again today. I just have to share this commercial with you all. Thailand has been cranking out commercials that are really heart-warming.
The commercial, “Silence of Love”, by Ogilvy & Mather Bangkok has become an internet sensation, reducing many viewers to tears.
Set to a soaring orchestral background, the “Silence of Love” commercial depicts a turbulent relationship between a mute father and his teenage daughter who struggles with his disability.

The teenage daughter feels ashamed of her mute dad and is often bullied in school because of her dad’s disability. She longs for a “normal” dad, one who can understand her and can hear her.
Driven by torment in school and frustration at home, she eventually breaks down and tries to commit suicide on her birthday.
After rushing her to the hospital, her disabled father does everything and anything he can for his daughter, culminating in making the ultimate sacrifice to save his daughter’s life.
