The Doomsday Prophecy By Scott Mariani

I have about 7 or 8 Scott Mariani’s books featuring Ben Hope which have gathering dust on my bookshelves for years. After reading the Mozart Conspiracy recently, I was hooked. So I am now embarking on a reading binge to finish the Scott Mariani’s books in my collection. The Doomsday Prophecy is the second Scott Mariani book that I have just finished reading.  And I am about to start reading  The Shadow Project.

The Doomsday Prophecy By Scott Mariani

Ben Hope has decided to retire from his profession as a rescuer of kidnap victims to return to his Theology studies that he put aside some twenty years ago. When his longtime friend and Theology Professor approaches him seeking his help in locating his wild daughter, Zoe Bradbury, whom he fears has been snatched, Ben turns him down. He however recommends his close friend Charlie for the job as he feels Charlie is more than competent to handle the job.

When Charlie runs into problems, he contacts Ben for help. With understandable reluctance, Ben agrees to help. When his friend Charlie gets killed in a bomb explosion, Ben dives headlong into his investigation that takes him around the globe.

The wilful and wild Zoe suddenly seems flushed with money. Ben discovers Zoe has some relationships with  Octogenarian multi-millionaire Miss  Augusta Valea and Televangelist and would-be Governor Clayton Cleaver.

It has something to do with the biblical Book of Revelation. Was St John really the author of this revelation? Is the Apocalypse really coming? With stakes running so high,  Ben races to prevent a disaster that may ultimately kick-start the Apocalypse.

Scott Mariani knows exactly how to bait his readers. This high adrenaline pace makes this book a real page-turner as  Ben in his usual style leaves a pile of bodies in each location.
