The Night Stalker By Robert Bryndza

ROBERT BRYNDZA deserves to join the heavy hitters of the thriller genre. I have just finished reading his DCI Erika Foster book #2, The Night Stalker. I really enjoyed it as it is a very fast-paced thriller. I have not read The Girl In The Ice, the first book in the series. I hope I can find the first book and the other books in the series.

The Night Stalker starts off in the dead of a hot summer night when Erika is called to a murder scene. The victim, a well known doctor, is found to have been killed by asphyxiation with his wrists tied and his eyes bulging through a clear plastic bag tight over his head.

A few days later, a very high profile controversial TV host is found dead, in exactly the same circumstances. As Erika and her team start digging deeper, they discover a calculated serial killer – stalking their victims before choosing the right moment to strike. Then the killer strikes again, this time killing a crime thriller author who is the gay partner of Erika’s colleague. The victims are all single men, with very private lives.

Erika will do everything to stop the Night Stalker before the body count rises, even at the risk of losing her job for disobeying orders from her superiors. But the victims might not be the only ones on the killer’s watch list… Erika’s own life could be on the line.

DCI Erika Foster may be abrasive but she is a very likeable character. I can’t help rooting for her. This is a thriller that readers of this genre should not miss.
