Please Let Me Go

Please let me go

Please let me go

I am begging you to get out of my life

Don’t cling to me as if you are my wife

I have had enough of you

You should have taken your cue.

I thought you have left me for good

Of late I have been in a good mood

Until you showed up again yesterday

Completely ruining my day.

You only know how to bring misery

You are such a mystery

You love to wreak havoc

As though you have been provoked.

My life is spinning out of control

Do have mercy on my throes

I am begging you to let me go

Please release me Miss Vertigo.

  1. Excellent twist. Reading through the stanzas I thought the voice in the poem is talking to his mistress.

  2. Thank you, sifu! That was my intention…to inject a little humour into a unhappy situation.
