Tim’s Seaside Hideout Resort

Are you in the mood for some serenity away from the hustle and bustle of city life? Do you yearn to be able to relax in a back-to-nature retreat?

Well, you are in luck if you are in Miri.  Just head your way to Tim’s Seaside Hideout Resort tucked away in a secluded seaside location at Beraya Beach along Jalan Bakam about 20 minutes’ drive from Miri. When driving along Jalan Bakam from the city, watch out for the Tim’s Seaside Hideout signboard on the right hand side of the road.

Tim’s Seaside Hideout Resort has 14 chalets and a beach house nestled on 32 acres of beach front land. The seaside chalets can accommodate 2 to 6 persons with a gazebo for guests to enjoy leisure activities. The hilltop chalets offer a wide sea view from a higher elevation and can accommodate 4 to 6 persons. The lovely beach house is a two-storey house adjacent to the beach and can accommodate up to 10 persons. The beach house and chalets are made from panelled walls, wooden floorings and beamed ceilings to provide a more rustic ambience.

The beach fronting the location stretches for miles and miles and is relatively pristine when compared to the other beaches in Miri. It is ideal for morning or evening walk and sunsets can be an awesome sight. Or you can just sit in the balcony of your chalet and take in the sights of the blue South China Sea. At night you can enjoy stargazing if the weather permits. But be warned about sand flies. Remember to bring along abundant supply of sand fly repellent.

Tim’s Seaside Hideout Cafe serves western cuisine such as salmon and steaks and local cuisine such as nasi goreng (fried rice) at a reasonable price. Guests dine on the raised Café Deck and Beach Deck which is suitable to host a birthday party, family retreat, bridal shower, engagement party and other family events. It can accommodate more than 200 persons at a time. I have not tried dining here but food is reputed to be good and service very friendly. There are also facilities for barbecue.

The air-conditioned multi-purpose room at the resort can accommodate 40 persons seated and is furnished with projector screen, glass board, white board, PA system and flat screen television.

For photography enthusiasts, the  place offers great photo opportunities: butterflies, bees, birds, sunsets, sea views, beaches, garden, beautiful chalets and nature.
